Newfield IT has added a
new module to its Asset
DB Managed Print Services
(MPS) toolset bringing greater
efficiencies to MPS providers
and their customers.
As well as enabling a sales
person to conduct audits using
an iPad or Android tablet with a
3G connection, WebSmart can
be used by the customer to view
and add comments to future
state design proposals created
in the core Asset DB application.
It can also be used by the
customer for remote data
collection, saving the MPS
provider the cost and time of
sending someone to collect
information on a small number
of devices.
Robert Newry, managing
director of NewField IT,
said: “Asset DB
WebSmart is another
exciting development for the
toolset that further broadens
the use of the application, which
is already used by 1500 MPS
professionals in 17 different
countries.”
It runs on all key web
browsers and is compatible with
multiple operating systems.

Home office users are the
target market for Brother’s
new mono laser 3-in-1
MFP (print, copy, colour
scan). The combination of
a compact footprint and
wireless connectivity makes
the DCP-7055W suitable
for environments where
space is in short supply and
there is less freedom in the
positioning of equipment.
Wireless connectivity also
allows users to print from
tablets and smartphones
using Brother’s iPrint&Scan

Asset DB on a tablet
By utilising OCM Scantraq,
companies have a single point
of contact for embedded print
and scan management, which
can offer a wealth of hidden
cost saving opportunities.”
OCM Scantraq enables
end users to integrate paper
documents into information
workflows by converting them
into searchable, digital files that
can be routed and stored using
one of the many connectors
supplied, including Google
Docs, Microsoft Sharepoint and
scan-to-email.
It can also automate
business processes based on
data contained in barcodes,
document zones and marks
by extracting this information
automatically and feeding
it into business systems,
databases and scripts.
The software supports
OCM’s Single Sign On and is
compatible with hundreds
