It convinced us that we were right in identifying an appetite amongst vendors and the channel community to explore new opportunities, new relationships and different routes to market. “This was borne out when we opened the doors on September 28, with people’s curiosity and desire to connect face-to-face trumping any concerns they might have had about meeting up again in public, not to mention the difficulties of travelling into central London with no petrol at the pumps! We were one of the very first tech events, or meetings of any kind, to be staged after the lifting of lockdown restrictions and some of our exhibitors who had signed up resellers earlier in the year were able to meet them in person for the first time at our show. That says it all. “ Meet and engage Technology Live is a one-day event where resellers from different backgrounds – IT, comms and print – can meet and engage with providers of products and technologies complementary to their existing portfolio. The digital transformation that organisations have been forced to undergo over the last two years has placed a premium on cloud, connectivity and cyber security, presenting opportunities for channel partners who embrace convergence, and risk for those who don’t. At the same time, more and more vendors have embraced the ‘as a service’ model, which can lower barriers to entry for resellers and MSPs that don’t have expertise in an area or the resources to build something themselves. Tech Live is not just about bringing vendors and resellers together. Partnerships between MSPs and resellers with different capabilities and specialisms are another way to explore the possibilities in convergence, and the 2022 exhibition will provide visitors with lots of chances to get together with fellow resellers/MSPs in the exhibition hall and restaurants and cafés within the venue and surrounding streets.
