The NEC MediaPlayer is an intuitive, modular plug-and-play digital signage solution that’s easy to use and customise. It comes pre-installed on a 32GB NEC Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 to swiftly integrate or retrofit inside any NEC large format display that offers the slot for Raspberry Pi CM4. The MediaPlayer allows the smooth, remote operation of individual or multiple screen setups, browser-based playlists, content distribution and centralised device management. For specific feature demands, the MediaPlayer also grants easy switching to third-party content management systems directly. www.sharpnecdisplays.eu Focus On: What’s New Intelligent camera line up Jabra’s new PanaCast camera line- up has been engineered to help businesses navigate the flexible hybrid way of working, combining immersive vision and video, audio technologies and artificial intelligence to completely reinvent meetings and collaboration. The Jabra PanaCast 50 intelligent video bar features three 13-megapixel cameras mounted in a high-precision multi-camera array to create an immersive 180° field of view in panoramic 4K that covers the whole room. The virtual director feature uses both AI-based video and audio streams, as well as Jabra’s proprietary AI algorithms, to automatically adjust the frame according to what’s happening in the meeting. This allows Jabra PanaCast 50 to detect active speakers and the flow of conversation, delivering a remote meeting experience that’s fully immersive and responsive. With the Jabra PanaCast 20 intelligent personal camera, workers benefit from high quality, secure video collaboration, in a compact, portable and easy-to-use package. The device features AI that is managed on-device with edge processing – and advanced experiences are generated directly on the device without extra data being sent to the cloud for processing, without need to install additional software. The camera has a built-in lens cover to guarantee privacy. www.jabra.co.uk Faxing from MFDs PaperCut Software has launched a new faxing module designed to help healthcare workers easily, securely and reliably transmit confidential patient information via fax, since faxing remains a regulatory requirement in many cases. The Scan to Fax service includes Basic (included with PaperCut MF integrated Scanning) and Advanced options, with the primary difference between the two being the highly secure method of sending files via HTTPS. The new scan action in PaperCut MF allows users to send scanned documents through to a selected set of fax providers. With PaperCut’s new Scan To Fax service, system administrators can simply create a new scan-to-fax action in the PaperCut MF user interface. Then all MFDs using PaperCut Scan to Fax allow users to select the scan action to scan a document, sending it through the preferred fax provider either as an email or via secure HTTPS. Where appropriate, Scan To Fax can be configured to send faxes to a fixed recipient (like a shortcut) or custom recipients, further increasing faxing security and increasing user convenience. The Scan-to-Fax upgrade in PaperCut MF is currently available for all PaperCut MF customers that have integrated scanning and will be included by default for new installations. www.PaperCut.com RFID label printers BIXOLON has added two new models to its growing RFID label printer line-up.
