Print.IT Reseller - issue 82

01732 759725 50 AND FINALLY Kerrie Spalding, General Manager Print & Supplies, Ingram Micro 60 seconds with… What’s currently having the greatest impact on your business? Consistency! Ingram Micro has worked all throughout the pandemic with no furlough or changes to personnel, and that consistent customer and vendor management has been invaluable during such a challenging time for everyone. As a result, we are winning a lot of business from loyalty and trust from resellers that we have supported throughout the last year. Where do you see the next big opportunity? In print, there are multiple opportunities on the horizon. Whether it is the ever growing demand for print-as-a- service, moving from single function inkjet into CISS like we have seen with Epson Ecotank, HP Smart tank and Canon Megatank ranges; or providing permanent home worker opportunities with all round solutions encompassing print bringing more opportunities for software, security and remote management. It’s an exciting time to be working in the industry! What would make your day job easier? The schools being back open would be a start! Joking aside, I can’t wait for the team to be back in the office, getting things done with a quick face to face conversation is so much easier than the virtual world we have seen ourselves thrown into! What’s the best bit of business advice you’ve been given? Not to react emotionally to certain situations, hit the delete button or sleep on it before reacting to that email that makes you mad!. If you had had a crystal ball, would you have done anything differently? No. I don’t believe in looking backwards and thinking ‘What if..’. I am a true believer that you are in control of your own destiny, you get from life what you put in and you should always learn from the mistakes you make. Describe your most embarrassing moment. Asking Olly Murs for a selfie at an awards ceremony one year and him leaning in with his cheek so I kissed it! Only to realise he was leaning in for the photo! I have never lived it down! What was your first job? I served jacket potatoes (the best may I add) at our local market aged 14 every Saturday! £20 a day was a lot back then! Favourite holiday destination? Oooh this is a hard one! I am torn between so many beautiful places abroad but I have to say that the kids, the dog and I absolutely love the New Forest and the South Coast. What would be your dream job? I got my first dream job when I had my first child. There is no more rewarding job on this earth than being a mum (apart from a home schooling, full-time home working one!) Fine dining and good wine, or curry and a pint? Neither to be honest – I prefer a Chinese takeaway and vodka and coke. How do you like to spend your spare time? What you mean when I am not washing, cooking, cleaning…..ha ha. I’m a bit of a TV addict and a bit of a soap fan (sorry!). Money’s not an issue, what’s your perfect car… and where would you like to drive it? I’m not into my cars really but if money were no object, I would like a Landrover Discovery – practical but a bit of luxury.
