01732 759725 50 AND FINALLY Shaun Lynn, CEO, Agilitas 60 seconds with… What’s currently having the greatest impact on your business? Like many corporations across the world, COVID-19 is having a significant impact on Agilitas as a business. Channel partners are beginning to identify the importance and value of providing services to their customers in order to be more intrinsic. To facilitate this, Agilitas has seen a dramatic increase in demand from partners looking to expand their service portfolio through outsourcing. Where do you see the next big opportunity? Shortening of supply chains represent a huge opportunity for the channel. Some of the regions most affected by the coronavirus happen to be at the heart of these global supply chains, which as demonstrated during recent events, causes huge disruption to the channel. Now more than ever, it is critical that channel partners identify alternative supply scenarios. This is an opportunity for businesses in the channel industry to review operations and ensure they are better prepared for future disruptions. What would make your day job easier? Current events are taking their toll on countless people around the world. During these times, every day is different, and everyone processes these challenges differently. For Agilitas, the physical and mental wellbeing of our staff is our greatest priority, and we are doing everything we can to support them during this difficult time. Amid all this disruption that we’re confronted with right now, knowing that the team are happy, feeling productive and staying positive about the months ahead naturally makes my job that bit easier. What’s the best bit of business advice you’ve been given? Every business decision should be made with a long-term vision in mind. Long- term business planning helps us to think differently about a company’s direction and goals, delivering clarity and focus when times become more challenging. To be successful, it is important that the vision, and the plan delivering that vision, is periodically communicated with all team members so they clearly understand the role they need to play. If you had had a crystal ball, would you have done anything differently? I love Agilitas and get great pleasure in seeing the business and its team members develop and grow year upon year. However, if I had been offered the chance to be a tech stock billionaire sitting on the beach of my own private island, I’m sure I wouldn’t have said no! Describe your most embarrassing moment. There are too many and too frequent to mention! However, one of the best would have to be when I was at a corporate golf day and said, ‘If Carlsberg did golf days, this would probably be one,’ quoting the well-known campaign. Little did I know at the time, I was standing right next to representatives from the main event sponsor, Heineken... It didn’t go down too well Shaun Lynn What was your first job? As a 16-year-old I joined Boots as a member of their technology department, selling Palm Pilots and typewriters – how times have changed! What would be your dream job? In all honesty, I would say I’m already in my dream job. It’s an amazing feeling to be able to build a great business with fantastic people around me, knowing that we’re making a difference in some way. Fine dining and good wine, or curry and a pint? Why not both? However, a nice Amarone does make the world a better place in my opinion. How do you like to spend your spare time? Spare time isn’t something I get too much of, but the little I do get is taken by perennial disappointment at the fortunes of Reading FC. Money’s not an issue, what’s your perfect car… and where would you like to drive it? I’d love for someone to drive me around in a Bentley Bentayga and take me to a good restaurant with an exceptional rum selection. Favourite holiday destination? It would have to be Punta Cana, the world’s longest pure white beach, in the Dominican Republic.
