It feels like no time at all since I invited industry leaders to share their predictions for 2020 – looking back it’s fair to say none of us could have predicted a global pandemic and the massive effect on businesses worldwide. Fast forward 12 months and it’s that time again; part one of our print predictions for 2021 feature is on page 42. What’s interesting is an overall feeling of optimism – despite print volumes and recurring revenue taking a massive hit – the OEMs who shared their thoughts, are very much looking at the positives for the year ahead. These include a boom in demand for IT services; opportunities for upgrades as businesses begin to take stock of how their remote workers are operating in reality; an increase in SMBs moving print to the cloud; and opportunities to deliver more as-a-service type solutions. In other news, Exertis has announced the launch of its intelligent cloud services platform, a comprehensive full-service cloud technology proposition designed to meet the bespoke needs of resellers with market-leading customer service and support (page 34). And Konica Minolta has developed a remote service solution for its resellers and distributors, enabling them to resolve customers’ issues and questions regarding their Konica Minolta printing devices without having to attend in person (page 37).
