BULLETIN SYNAXON UK partners with CyberSmart SYNAXON UK has received an enthusiastic response from members regarding its new partnership with cybersecurity compliance specialist CyberSmart. Members are able to engage with CyberSmart through the group’s account management team and have access to preferential support and enablement resources. A number of members have already made use of CyberSmart to achieve Cyber Essentials for their own businesses and are also making their customers aware of the opportunity. “The partnership has been formed at exactly the right time,” said SYNAXON UK Managing Director, Mike Barron. “Cybersecurity is a huge issue and the importance of achieving Cyber Essentials certification and demonstrating that you are ready to protect your organisation, employees and data, has never been greater. We have received an immediate and extremely positive response from members who are using CyberSmart to get certified themselves and help and encourage their customers to follow their lead.” CyberSmart’s solutions reduce the Cyber Essentials certification time from months to hours, making remote auditing simple while also checking, fixing, and monitoring compliance around the clock. A centralised dashboard and mobile app make all relevant information easy to access and interpret. www.synaxon.co.uk New pan-European agreement Global Computing Components (GCC), a specialised solution business within Tech Data, has entered into a pan-European agreement with storage support specialist StorTrec to provide channel partners with access to a wide range of value-added services that can be offered alongside storage products. The first phase of a working partnership with Macfarlane Packaging has seen Exertis reduce stretch wrap and pallet top sheets material by 24% – a total of 18 tonnes of plastic material at its three logistic centres in the UK. The second phase of the project is underway and initial findings predict removal of a further 19 tonnes of plastic material – reducing material manufacturing CO2 emissions by 36 tonnes. The third stage will see the process implemented across other Exertis facilities across Europe. Other initiatives include: the redesign of packaging for own brand products at Hypertec, eliminating plastic and using recyclable materials. Reducing the size of packaging, removing single-use plastic, using more sustainable and eco-friendly materials and educating the end-user on recycling at Kondor. Supporting the circular economy with the refurbishment and repair of mobile devices at second-lifecycle solutions provider MTR. Increasing its drop ship services to retailers and resellers in the UK by 73% (March to May YOY), thereby cutting down the amount of time goods have to be moved. Global Logistics Director, Alan Lynch said: “Sustainability is a key focus for Exertis and the business has been working on projects across the group with third-party suppliers, vendors and customers to optimise packaging, reduce material waste, support the circular economy and increase our dropship services. By developing innovative solutions, we not only reduce our carbon footprint but positively impact the environment.” www.exertis.co.uk Print Rite Pelikan signs new distribution deal Print Rite Pelikan Solutions GmbH and Print Rite Europe Limited has appointed Cartridge World France SARL as an authorised non-exclusive distributor in French speaking regions.
