01732 759725 48 Q&A View from the channel Q: How’s business; better or worse than 12 months ago? And how confident are you about the future? A: One of the impacts of the current pandemic we believe could potentially be the ability for businesses to secure finance in the marketplace should a current or new requirement need reviewing. We have worked with various funders and manufacturers to ensure we are giving our clients current and new, greater flexibility than needed this time last year. Confidence in the future we believe is in our business’ ability to adapt to change and follow the market in that path by constantly reviewing our offerings/portfolio in terms of technology etc. to ensure we are on hand to support any future challenges that might present themselves. Q: In what areas are you experiencing strongest demand? A: We have seen an increase naturally in remote working support in companies moving closer towards digitalisation, whether it be in or out of the office. Q: How have you changed/are you changing business operations to exploit new opportunities? A: Office Fox is working on true rental agreements/models instead of long-term leases to provide clients with bespoke short-term agreements that work for them. We see a clear gap in the market for these types of services as opposed to businesses stuck in long-term lease agreements that are unbreakable for office equipment they are unable to use. Q: What do you see as the biggest challenges facing channel businesses today? A: We have seen challenges for customers to recognise a true value proposition when everything is being commoditised i.e. clients are looking for quick wins and not looking at long-term sustainable solutions. David Warrington, Client Services Director, Office Fox Confidence in the future we believe is in our business’ ability to adapt to change and follow the market Q: Could vendors and distributors do more to help you overcome them? And if so, what? A: In terms of vendors and distributors, it’s critical to exchange their knowledge and support given that they have a far wider reach of client base and resource, and to work closer with the channel to facilitate all of these changes within the market. Q: If you could change one aspect of your job what would it be and why? A: I wouldn’t change my job. We have achieved year on year growth and the business is in a very strong position. We are currently working with various manufacturers on multiple requirements, our team is strong and growing and family life couldn’t be better. I look forward to the challenges ahead! www.officefox.co.uk
