Through the World Land Trust’s Carbon Balanced Paper scheme, Antalis will balance the unavoidable carbon emissions that are emitted in the sourcing, production and transportation of the range. The money raised supports World Land Trust projects in Vietnam, one of the most biologically diverse countries on earth. To date, 16,000 acres of standing forest at threat of clearance has been protected – the equivalent of 9,080 football pitches. He takes the reins from Stephen Martin, who has taken up the post of Head of Sales with Maverick AV Solutions – Tech Data’s specialist audio visual business unit. Bates arrives in his new role from a period of just under five years as Business Manager for Tech Data’s Dell client business, during which he has overseen significant growth and development. Utilising carbon balanced paper for the 2020 catalogue has enabled the wholesaler to offset carbon emissions of the paper used for the big book, enabling them to balance 179,643kg of carbon dioxide through the World Land Trust, which equates to 125,750m 2 of critically threatened tropical forest.
