PRINTITRESELLER.UK 7 BULLETIN Treemendous effort for Sharples Sharples has introduced its Treemendous Print & Plant initiative. For every hardware product sold, the company will plant a minimum of six trees in the Mersey Forest. The group is aiming to plant a minimum of 1,000 trees during 2020. Group Sales Director, Steve Lowndes said: “Our business has a long track record for contributing to the community in which we operate, and for championing the health and wellbeing of our team. We are conscious of the impact our industry has on the environment, especially if print isn’t managed effectively. To mitigate this, we offer free consumables recycling, partner with manufacturers that share our values and provide solutions to help businesses print less. But we wanted to do something more, and locally too.” www.sharplesgroup.com Huge fundraising effort for Key Digital Sustainable print and copier specialists, Key Digital, is marking its tenth birthday with a huge charitable fundraising effort. Its goal is to raise £10,000 throughout 2020 which will be split between four different charities: NSPCC, Drop4Drop, Woodland Trust and Burnley FC in the Community. £2,500 for each charity would result in acres of new forest being planted to offset carbon emissions and create new habitats for wildlife; give over 1,000 vulnerable children access to help and support; build a clean water well for a deprived community in Africa; and provide local people with health and wellbeing facilities. Over the years, Key Digital have worked on various community initiatives and fundraising events but this will be its biggest challenge yet. Fund raising initiatives include bake sales, events and fitness challenges, culminating in a gala dinner at the end of the year. www.key-digital.co.uk Mode celebrates 25 years Mode celebrated its milestone 25th anniversary at its annual awards ceremony. The money was raised from the firm’s Christmas charity advent calendar. Apogee employees were encouraged to buy tickets for a chance to win one of the prizes hidden behind each door, with winners drawn at random each day of December up to Christmas Eve. Prizes, which included an indoor skydiving experience and a luxury hotel voucher, were donated from a number of key partners enabling all money donated to go straight to the charity, which was chosen by employees from an internal poll. The donation will enable GOSH to rebuild and refurbish outdated infrastructure, lead ground-breaking research into the development of new treatments, purchase the latest specialist equipment and provide accommodation and other support services for children and their families. www.apogeecorp.com (l-r) Ella Donaldson, Apogee Events Coordinator and Dom Gryszan, Apogee Marketing Manager, present cheque to Lizzie Helps, GOSH’s Senior Fundraising Executive
