01732 759725 50 AND FINALLY Olaf Lorenz, General Manager International Marketing Division, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe 60 seconds with… What’s currently having the greatest impact on your business? Definitely the development of Konica Minolta's IT services portfolio, which is gaining momentum. At the same time, we see that not all the hyped trends have turned out to be permanent, as the market has predicted. We must therefore constantly take this into account in our market analysis and the way we respond to market demands. Where do you see the next big opportunity? We have found that the sense of urgency for digital transformation among SMEs is still low; but the potential that is possible with Konica Minolta's IT services, is much higher. This means that we need to communicate this capability even more strongly to our customers, including addressing their pain points, highlighting benefits and showing business opportunities that are possible with digitalisation. What would make your day job easier? A real barometer that is very close to the customer – preferably in the form of a CRM tool working with AI, which gives us precise analysis options about our customers' pain points with corresponding recommendations for action for sales. What’s the best bit of business advice you’ve been given? In terms of customer centricity: ‘Don’t work just in Excel, make your own judgement by seeing customers’! If you had had a crystal ball, would you have done anything differently? A more rapid disruption of the business model than we have addressed so far at Konica Minolta in order to achieve a greater sense of urgency. Describe your most embarrassing moment I have those moments more in my private life. What was your first job? Pre-sales consultant for network integrations projects. What would be your dream job? A job with more of a social impact and not business only; the two should be reconciled. Fine dining and good wine, or curry and a pint? Curry and a pint. How do you like to spend your spare time? Riding a bike and walking the dog in the countryside. Favourite holiday destination? Everywhere with good bike trails, preferably off-road and hilly. Money’s not an issue, what’s your perfect car… and where would you like to drive it? Driving an old Triumph Spitfire, along the east coast from England up to Scotland (in good weather conditions).
