01732 759725 12 BULLETIN City of London Corporation to save £2.5m Konica Minolta’s digital technology and services, along with its dedicated onsite Fleet Manager, have helped the City of London Corporation cut print costs by half, resulting in almost £2.5 million in predicted cost savings over five years. The Fleet Manager is helping the City Corporation to surface and resolve operational challenges, deliver on its public authority commitments and create a smarter, more efficient digital workplace. The managed print service also encompasses the City of London Police and the Central Criminal Court at the Old Bailey. City of London Police is responsible for protecting one of the most challenging environments in the UK whilst leading the national response to fraud. More than 500 Konica Minolta MFDs are now deployed across 80 sites within London and the South-East, all backed by SafeQ security controls to protect sensitive information and PrintFleet, the next generation fleet management solution. www.konicaminolta.co.uk Thales and Fujitsu announce strategic partnership Fujitsu has chosen Thales Cloud Hardware Security Modules (HSM) and Key Management solutions to support its new managed Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) security and enterprise data encryption offerings now available across Europe. The company’s primary SaaS solution, M-Files Online, is a hybrid intelligent information management platform that allows customers to implement both cloud and on-premises solutions without having to separately purchase licenses for each. M-Files added nearly 1,300 new customers in 2019 across its global footprint, including enterprises in professional services, manufacturing, financial services, and energy, among other industries. The company also strengthened its global network of partners around the world with specialised expertise in key use cases, vertical industries and systems integration. A technology partnership with Konica Minolta drove successful projects across 14 European countries, which inspired an expanded alliance in 2020 to bring intelligent information management to the entire European market. “As we accelerated our transition to a SaaS and cloud-based business model in 2019, customers and partners reaped the benefits of our innovative licensing options that enable M-Files Online customers to become instantly cloud-ready and able to leverage the cloud in a phased and targeted manner as they see fit,” said CEO Antti Nivala. www.m-files.com Ricoh scoops Buyers Lab award Ricoh is celebrating another Keypoint Intelligence – Buyers Lab success having won a BLI Winter Pick award for its new A4 colour intelligent multifunction printer (MFP), the Ricoh IM C300. As a Community Interest Company, SP&C will donate profits back to the charity sector through a community grants program due to be launched later this year. SP&C will predominantly stock and sell Epson printers due to their low-energy consumption, low waste and low costs to the customer. While its core market is print and copier solutions, SP&C will also look at widening its product offering towards large format print and projectors. Director Ian Gray, said: “Our customers’ stories are consistent, they are bombarded with complex, multi-layered contracts that are hard to understand and often cost more than promised. SP&C seeks to change the way our sector meets its printer and copier needs with cheaper costs and simple contracts. Epson stood out to us as their proposition on printing solutions focussed more on customers reducing their CO2 emissions and waste rather than blindsiding them with broken promises, and they generally proved themselves a great fit to the ethical standards we’re bringing to Scotland.” www.socialprintandcopy.org Kyocera picks up three awards Keypoint Intelligence – Buyers Lab has awarded Kyocera with three Winter 2020 Copier MFP Pick awards for the following products: the Kyocera TASKalfa 9003i, 8003i, and 7003i Black & White MFPs. When also taking into consideration the ease in which paper can be loaded, high paper capacities, and simple procedures for clearing misfeeds in the unlikely event one should occur, these devices will keep your large workgroups productive, day in and day out.” www.kyoceradocumentsolutions.co.uk Antti Nivala, CEO at M-Files
