PRINT IT RESELLER.UK 7 BULLETIN Commercial supports local charity A team from Commercial supported local charity, Caring for Communities and People (CCP), by taking part in its annual Christmas gift wrapping service. The event which took place in the Regent Arcade in Cheltenham on December 16 and 20, raises vital funds for Hamper Scamper which provides seasonal food parcels and children's gifts to those in need. “This service is the main fundraising element for Hamper Scamper and every penny we make counts,” said Katie Dainty from CCP. “This helps us to provide food hampers and children’s gifts to those who are isolated or on the brink of homelessness, and those struggling to afford food and heating alongside the expectations of the festive season. We really appreciate the support from Commercial, which is one of the local businesses that takes part every year.” www.commercial.co.uk You print one, we’ll plant one In support of its commitment to continually find ways to innovate and support a more sustainable planet, Apogee has partnered with PrintReleaf to offer customers an automated sustainability programme focused on reforestation. Through PrintReleaf, Apogee’s customers can now reforest their paper consumption by planting an equivalent volume of trees in certified forestry projects around the world. Based on a theme of ‘you print one, we’ll plant one’, PrintReleaf leverages paper usage reporting and equates the number of trees needed to reforest that usage on an equivalent basis in geographic areas of need. Through PrintReleaf, trees are automatically reforested across their global network of certified reforestation projects to continually offset a customer’s environmental impact. Customers may choose their reforestation sites or allow the software to automatically choose for them. Additionally, they may track their progress, view certification as well as share the ongoing impact through social media, all from their own online portal. www.apogeecorp.com IT Schools Africa Commercial’s Change Champions employee volunteering scheme team have completed a successful charity day for IT Schools Africa. The seven-strong team visited the facility in Cheltenham and dismantled 40 servers for recycling. The charity day came about through Commercial’s existing partnership with IT Schools Africa to recycle computer equipment which is then sent to schools in Kenya, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe. This enables quality education and transforms lives through access to e-learning. The Managed IT with a Conscience programme encourages all Commercial’s partners and customers to recycle computers, laptops, monitors and keyboards. www.commercial.co.uk £15m partnership deal for Circle IT Following a competitive procurement exercise, Circle IT and Cardiff University have announced a £15 million partnership deal that will see a radical overhaul of the University’s network infrastructure and support services over the next ten years.
