Created by the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) on behalf of the UK public sector. The framework will deliver networking, local area connectivity, data access, conferencing, telephony and unified communications services for all public sector organisations. The framework opens the door for the public sector to modernise mobile, radio, email and call centre services, heighten security and data protection, and drastically improve communication networks. It will provide UK public sector customers, including the central government, local authorities, NHS and charities, with a new, compliant and refreshed route to market replacing the outgoing Network Services (RM1045) framework. Softcat Public Sector Director, Anthony Cowen, said: “This framework works well to strengthen our existing framework portfolio. Providing a strong route to market for networking-related technology that Softcat and our partners perform particularly well in.” www.softcat.com Commercial sweeps the board Commercial has won three accolades at the prestigious Planet Mark Awards, winning in the employee engagement, best newcomer and personal achievement categories. “We are bowled over to have won in all three award categories we entered,” Co-founder and Managing Director Simone Hindmarch, said: “We are particularly pleased given the calibre and range of the other businesses in the Planet Mark family, all of whom are keen to positively affect climate change.” Commercial was awarded Planet Mark certification in 2018, in recognition of its continuous improvement in sustainability, and its commitment to ongoing, meaningful action. In January 2020, Planet Mark will launch a ‘Decade of Action’ campaign. This involves asking UK organisations to lead the world as we enter the most important ten years of the climate crisis. Commercial plans to be at the forefront, to share and to learn, as well as continue to build on the work it does, setting even more ambitious goals. www.commercial.co.uk Print Logic dashes through the snow for charity Six members of Print Logic’s Merseyside HQ team took part in the 2019 Liverpool Santa Dash in December to raise money for their charity of the year, Wirral Society for the Blind and Partially Sighted. Following other successful fundraisers for the local charity (including a skydive which raised nearly £3,000), this latest event saw the team running through a 5km course in Liverpool’s city centre, passing local landmarks such as the Liver Building and Albert Dock. Media Manager Ross Hooton, said: “The Santa Dash is another opportunity to raise money for a great local charity and also have some fun with the team at the same time!” As well as the run, Print Logic held a Christmas charity bake-off event at HQ. All funds raised will go to WSBPS, and a special meeting will be held to announce how much has been raised throughout the year by Print Logic’s efforts. www.print-logic.com (l-r) Dave Carlos, Planet Mark; Andrew McKenzie, Commercial; Louis Beaumont, Hive Cleaning; Sarah Gillett, Planet Mark Philip Bond
