It feels like no time at all but here we are looking at another New Year ahead. Undoubtedly 2019 has been a year of change, consolidation and challenges, and 2020 looks set to be more of the same. PrintIT Reseller invited some of the industry’s vendors to share their thoughts on what 2020 holds for the print and IT sectors (page 42). What’s interesting is that not much has changed in 12 months. Brexit and the impending general election are undeniably causing concerns for business of all sizes, and the uncertainty looks set to continue next year. Consolidation is very much the norm and there are no signs that this will abate any time soon. Key trends include the way technology is being used and consumed – take-up and demand for flexible ‘consumption- based’ ‘as a service’ models continue to gather pace. Cloud-first strategies have become more commonplace, this coupled with the desire to do more with less through automating paper-based workflows and digital transformation, has made print more relevant in a broader IT services proposition. Sustainability continues to climb up the corporate agenda, following on from last issue, this month’s VOX POP panel share their thoughts on corporate responsibility and sustainable procurement practices (page 39). Andy Cocking, Regional Account Director, Barracuda MSP, picks the work tools he uses every day and couldn’t do his job without (page 18).
