01732 759725 16 BULLETIN : PEOPLE Barron to head SYNAXON UK SYNAXON AG has announced the appointment of Mike Barron as Managing Director of SYNAXON UK. The announcement follows the successful implementation of a new strategy and structure for the UK channels services group that was announced in the summer. Barron takes up the position having previously been Channel Director and Head of Purchasing. In this new role, he will have overall responsibility for execution of SYNAXON’s strategy in the UK. He will also retain overall responsibility for vendor and member relationships and procurement. SYNAXON AG will continue with its ongoing planned investment programme for the UK operation, which has already seen additional staff joining. www.synaxon.co.uk NewStar targets channel growth NewStar AV & IT Mounts has hired Suzanne Tiernan as Head of Sales UK & Ireland. Tiernan is well known within the channel having previously worked for Newell Rubbermaid and Durable UK. NewStar provides affordable mounting solutions for TVs, LFDs, monitors, projectors, PCs, laptops and tablets and has been very active in the IT distribution channel. The company is looking to build on its existing success in the UK and Ireland by increasing focus within these markets. Tiernan said: “I am really excited about working with NewStar. His appointment bolsters the firm’s continued focus on driving the shift from laser to business inkjet printing, as well as its commitment to a 100% indirect business sales model. Phelps led the company’s recent re- vamp and expansion of its channel partner programme to offer additional value to resellers of Epson business printers, scanners and displays and is credited with driving a 62% increase in partners working alongside the brand. He will serve a two-year term. Susan Graham, a senior executive at Charles Letts, has been appointed Vice-President. Robertson, who was formerly vice-President, has spent forty-seven years in the industry and is a consultant to his family print business JJR Print of Dumbarton.
