The new apprentices based in Basingstoke will be given three months of classroom-based training before gaining their initial experience working in a sales team, overseen by appointed mentors. Over the next 12 to 15 months they will go through a carefully-planned programme that will include sales training, product training, systems knowledge, CompTIA certification and an outward bound team building course in the Lake District in December. “The apprenticeship will give them all the essential skills required to become fully-fledged members of the Tech Data team, delivering great service to customers,” said Sandie Jackson, Apprenticeship Programme Manager at Tech Data. Although this is only the second year of Tech Data’s apprenticeship scheme, it has already been recognised nationally, coming 60th in the overall Rate My Apprenticeship awards and third in the regional award. www.techdata.com 10 Double success for Nimans Nimans is celebrating a double success.
