Our business centres on technology, which we all know is a fast-moving thing. We constantly help our partners re-invent themselves, so they can excite end-users in the print, copy and scan space. By doing so we ensure that our resellers deliver solutions that keep their businesses relevant by meeting customers’ ever-changing needs. Where do you see the next big opportunity? Public, multi-tenant cloud computing is changing the way businesses work. Many systems that were installed onsite are now a subscription-based service on the internet. While this has brought significant convenience to many businesses and their users, inter-operability between systems often remains a challenge. The next big opportunity is to help customers bridge these systems and ensure that the machines that our industry put into the field serve as both input and output devices for cloud services. Watch this space, ITS will be working to assist resellers with this opportunity in the coming months. What would make your day job easier? Working with more than fifteen separate business critical systems, having an all- in-one business system that interacts and communicates with all the relevant parties (including customers) would make my day. What’s the best bit of business advice you’ve been given? I was told to always have a plan B…. and C even. Being agile and able to adapt to changing conditions (expected or unexpected) will build resilience to any business. Never burn bridges, build your network both internally and externally – relationships! If you had had a crystal ball, would you have done anything differently? One could always have done things differently; hindsight is a wonderful thing. I am no exception, but on reflection, in the main the overall objectives have been reached and changing the past would erase many learning opportunities life presented. Describe your most embarrassing moment I am still so embarrassed to admit this one – I was on a global Webex conference delivering a demonstration of some software and was sharing my screen with about fifteen others. It required me to login to a user interface and in those days, my password was a rude one (we’ve all done it I’m sure). Well, I typed in my username and hit the tab key then typed in my password (I wasn’t looking at the screen at this point). What happened here is that the tab key took me to a clear text box (not the password box) and everyone saw what I typed – OOPS. What was your first job? I worked at Laskeys many many moons ago – I have always been an Audio/Video fanatic. What would be your dream job? Certainly a Formula 1 driver or professional footballer, however, those dreams passed a long time ago…. Sales Director at iTS serves me very well, given my background in sales and the industry I work in. How do you like to spend your spare time? Family and friends, love holidaying, going to the odd F1 race and football match when time allows. Fine dining and good wine, or curry and a pint? Definitely depends on my mood. I cook a mean curry (with wine) however, fine dining and wine is the one if I had to choose. Money’s not an issue, what’s your perfect car… and where would you like to drive it? Took me ages to think of this one as there are so many perfect cars out there. It would have to be the LaFerrari. Apart from the Nurburring, I would love to drive this 950+bhp beast on the Great Ocean Road in Australia – home of PaperCut. Favourite holiday destination? There are many, but if I had to choose one, it would be Mauritius.
