PrintIT Reseller - issue 66

01732 759725 28 DISTRIBUTION DMC Distribution is geared for a major change as it aims to further its market position as one of the leading independent distributors and become the ‘go to supplier’ for resellers. Sales Director Damian Kelly, spoke to PrintIT Reseller about rebranding and relocation It’s all Go2 for DMC Distribution toner range, which has been hugely successful for us.” The planitgreen range which initially provided remanufactured toners from brands including Canon, Kyocera and Ricoh, was expanded to include products for Brother, Epson, HP, Dell and Samsung products to name a few. More recently the distie acquired the Eco compatible range of toners to complement the planitgreen toner range as well as significantly increasing its depth of range in HP, Brother and Kyocera printer supplies. A year of transformative change The new name comes after a year of transformative change for the firm and reflects its customers’ experience of being their ‘go-to’ independent supplier. A growth in new customers along with feedback over the past financial year has established the business as the ‘go-to’ trade-only specialist for copier and printer supplies. Knowledge is a key element to its success, with almost 30 years of trading experience and an expert sales team supplying the UK and Europe’s leading trade resellers, it has insight into the resellers’ needs, whatever their size. “The market is commoditised and margins are tight, unfortunately in that climate, it’s often customer service levels that give. We have always been and will always be a customer-centric supplier,” Kelly said. “Our style is to pick up the phone and talk to our customers, we’re a small team, a family business and a customer can talk to anyone of the team at any time.” He added: “It’s an exciting time for us, the rebrand and office move feels like a new company but it’s one that’s still in the same old safe hands.” The company moved into new premises with bespoke warehousing which gives it increased capability and stock-holding at the beginning of October. “We are not resting on our laurels and want to continually improve and build on our position as one of the UK’s most experienced print and copier supplies distributors,” Kelly continued. “By moving into new premises with 10,000 sq. ft. of specialised warehousing, we have capacity to further grow our product offering as well as improve efficiency and logistics. Our goal is to fill that warehouse with the things our customers want,” he said. The company has also implemented a new ERP back-office system that will streamline the order processing cycle and provide resellers with EDI ordering and real time stock information. “With all the economic and political uncertainly we are facing we want our customers and suppliers to know who their go to supplier is, safe in the knowledge that we are certain about how we will grow and improve our business for them,” Kelly added. “In a market that is already saturated with vendors, Go2’s printer and copier supplies expertise offer resellers a trusted and reliable distribution partner and an enhanced customer experience” he concluded. www.go2distribution.co.uk DMC Distribution, the specialist printer and supplies distributor to resellers in the UK, has announced it is rebranding to Go2 distribution. The company is also relocating to a larger, bespoke warehouse, a move that will enable it to further broaden its product offering as well as improve efficiency and logistics to offer an even better service. The company was first established 29 years ago as a spin-off of direct sales company DMC Business Machines. “At the time founders John Hill and Justin Nicholson set-up a distribution arm as a way to get more volume through the business,” Kelly explained. It was initially formed as a standalone business but just a few years later was merged into the group. Now with a shift in focus at DMC (now DMC Canotec) which was purchased by Horizon Capital and is targeting rapid growth through the acquisition of print businesses, the distribution business is reverting back to its roots. Kelly said the business has changed in parallel with changes in the market. “We evolved from a fax supplier to one that provides printers and copiers from many of the major brands. We have carved a niche supporting the traditional reseller channel. Our desire to not be a broad line stocklist shaped our decision around seven years ago to launch the planitgreen
