01732 759725 4 BULLETIN HP Office ‘Pink Ream’ continues to fight breast cancer International Paper has announced it will continue its Pink Ream campaign in support of saving lives from breast cancer. This year, the company will collaborate with Think Pink Europe, which brings together national breast cancer initiatives across the continent. The Pink Ream campaign was launched in Europe in 2017 with distinctive, specially designed packaging for reams of HP Office paper. For each Pink Ream sold in the UK International Paper donated £0.10 to programmes focusing on breast cancer research, awareness and prevention. A total of € 198,000 was contributed across Europe and in March 2018 the campaign was selected as ‘Initiative of the Year’ in the 17th European Office Products Awards (EOPA) competition. The HP Office Pink Ream will be available throughout October (which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month). International Paper has again committed to a minimum contribution of € 100,000. Of the total amount raised, 80% will be donated to local associations and 20% will be invested in programmes through Think Pink Europe. www.internationalpaper.com M-Files Online future-proofs information management M-Files has released M-Files Online, the first information management system that enables organisations to flexibly combine cloud and on-premises deployments with a single user license without having to lock into one model. In a survey of 150 UK CEOs, the majority said they were frustrated by short-termism and the pressure from their board to deliver results on multi-year digital transformation projects: 72% cited unreasonable expectations for return on investment related to digital transformation. Instead leaders wanted their boards to take a long-term view of tech investments, with 64% advising the company would only begin to see a return on investment in AI in three to five years after the initial outlay. Similarly, over half of the CEOs agreed on the same ROI timescale for process automation technologies like robotics. Despite its challenges, the disruption is welcomed by UK CEOs. The vast majority of the CEO cohort (95 percent) agree that it is more of an opportunity than a threat, but 86 percent are overwhelmed by the time needed to make progress. Lisa Heneghan, Partner and Digital Transformation Lead at KPMG UK said: “Digital transformation is no longer a choice, it’s an essential driver of revenue, profit and growth. Business leaders need to move away from simply fulfilling client needs, in sometimes laborious ways, to using technology achieve results with more depth, efficiency, and decrease the probability of error.” www.kpmg.co.uk Formpipe supports Digital Preservation Coalition Formpipe is backing the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC), a move that underpins its ongoing commitment to data integrity and preservation.
