Realising growth across all seven divisions, it has enjoyed particularly strong growth across MPS, print and promotion and workwear which have all increased by more than 20%. The company which was acquired by OfficeTeam in April, has also been awarded the Xerox Gold Concessionaire Partner of the Year for the second year. Chosen for the sixth successive year by the event organisers, Apogee once again supplied document infrastructure they could rely upon and a team provided the festival with fully managed high-performance print technology. Prudential RideLondon is the world’s greatest festival of cycling which takes place annually across London and Surrey. This year saw more than 100,000 cyclists, including some of the world’s top professionals, brave the wet and windy weather along with spectators who took to the streets to cheer them on as they battled the rain. www.apogeecorp.com Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire presents Commercial’s Queen’s Award The Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire, Dame Janet Trotter, visited Commercial’s Cheltenham head office to present its Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development. Dame Janet also visited Commercial’s social enterprise, Commercial Foundation, which focuses on empowering disadvantaged young people with work readiness skills. Here, she met Matt Bachelor who previously took part in Commercial Foundation’s NoLimits programme before taking on a permanent role at the company. Bachelor talked to Dame Janet about this life-changing opportunity, explaining how the young people generate income to help fund Commercial Foundation through its We Do. Print offering. Directors Simone and Arthur Hindmarch, who recently attended a reception at Buckingham Palace in recognition of the award, said the head office team were delighted to be involved in the official presentation. Presenting the award, Dame Janet said: “This is the first time a Gloucestershire business has won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Sustainability category. I’m so pleased that this has been achieved at last. The stand will be the first in the UK to showcase the new Xerox Iridesse Press, as well as the latest solutions from key partners including Antalis, EFI, Infigo and XMPie. Featuring alongside the Iridesse, will be Xerox’s Versant 180 and the Versant 3100, its leading range of high-end production devices. www.xeretec.co.uk Coast to coast for the BHF Midshire completed a virtual coast to coast bike ride challenge on August 24, with a goal to raise over £1,000 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF). The firm’s Stockport office went head to head against its West Bromwich office in the 145- mile challenge on static spin bikes, generously donated by customer Life Leisure. Almost 50 employees cycled 15-minute relay-style intervals until finished, with each participant raising a minimum of £15 for the British Heart Foundation. Other plans for the day included a raffle, with prizes donated by customers and partners and a ‘smoothie stand’, which along with delicious homemade healthy treats were sold to help raise a little extra for the BHF. www.midshire.co.uk
