01732 759725 24 INFORMATION MANAGEMENT Back in 2015, Epson disrupted the printer market by launching an innovative approach to printing, introducing a new type of printer that comes with high-capacity refillable ink tanks, instead of using ink cartridges like a typical inkjet printer. EcoTank provides customers with cartridge free printers that use supersized reservoirs with enough ink included in the purchase to last up to three1 years. Whilst they entail a higher initial purchase cost than traditional ink-jet printers, they do away with the expensive, conventional cartridge replacements, using the refillable ink tanks that offer a much lower cost per page over the lifetime of the printer. Indeed GfK2 calculated a 74% saving on average on printing costs. With certain EcoTank printers, you can print up to 14,000 pages in black and 11,200 in colour, an expensive proposition if you were printing with traditional ink-jet printers. In fact, the EcoTank comes with the equivalent of 943 cartridges of ink. That also makes it much more environmentally friendly with more than 65 million ink cartridges sold annually in the UK. For those requiring a reliable, workhorse printer for daily use, the exceptionally low running costs and three year warranty4 make an EcoTank printer a compelling proposition. Of course, not only does this add convenience of not having to worry about running out of ink at a crucial time, the quality of printing remains exceptional with high quality, vibrant colours using Epson’s unique Micro Piezo technology. When you do need to refill the tank system, the front facing ink tanks make it simple to monitor ink levels and the replacement bottles have unique spouts and inlets for each colour to guard against misfilling with the wrong colour. The filling stops automatically when the tank is full and the valve helps prevent ink spills. The EcoTank series comprises various different models, each with varying price points and features. However, all EcoTank models (excluding the ET-16500 A3 version) are multifunctional: printer, scanner and copier along with providing wi-fi and USB connectivity. A companion app makes printing from a mobile device simple. “Epson’s EcoTank offers resellers an instant profit solution for print,” says Annika Fagerstrom - Head of Consumer Sales, Epson UK. “Which would you choose: the traditional way of selling the printer at a low price and then waiting for the uncertainty of any subsequent ink sales, or the upfront guaranteed margin of selling an EcoTank? The opportunity to make a higher percentage margin is the reason why EcoTank has been so successful amongst our channel partners. Change your business today and start selling printing and not just a printer! With over 20 million EcoTank printers sold worldwide, Epson has delivered a solution which has revolutionised the ink-jet market offering great features and considerable benefits (cost, convenience and efficiency) to companies and home users that print regularly.
