Sihl produces media for all key applications, including specialist products for photo/fine-art, and media for signage applications with paper-film combinations, self-adhesives, and coated papers and films. www.artsystems.co.uk Diary date Synaxon’s annual conference brings more than 400 delegates from members and supplier partners for two days of one-to- one meetings, networking, business and technical workshops, and thought-provoking presentations. This year’s event will take place at the prestigious International Centre in Telford on 7 and 8 June. www.synaxon.co.uk Three-minute test to assess GDPR readiness DMSL has set up a simple web page to give resellers and their customers a quick and easy way to assess their readiness to comply with GDPR. The three-minute self-assessment consists of a series of 12 multiple choice questions. Once completed, it provides an indication of the level of risk to which the organisation might be exposed. Managing Director John Carter, said: “Most resellers are probably fed up receiving GDPR emails, so we have designed this test to be different. It’s a simple three-minute test on what you know and what you don’t. If resellers do need help getting compliant, we can point them in the right direction. Then – if they choose to – they can sell their services to their own customers and help them be compliant too.” www.dmsluk.co.uk/services/gdpr-need- know/#Take-the-test Paper packaging doesn’t deserve a ‘bad wrap’ Consumer concerns around packaging have extended to all forms, leading to misconceptions around the sustainability of paper-based options – an issue which Antalis Packaging states the industry must tackle. The company has been quick to assert that paper packaging, when used efficiently, offers a viable and green solution and shouldn’t be categorised in the same unsustainable bracket. Scott Day, ‘In-the-box’ Packaging Expert at Antalis Packaging, said: “As the packaging waste issue continues to gain momentum, it is vitally important that paper-based options are not tarred with the same brush as their typically perceived less environmentally friendly plastic counterparts. “Despite some perceptions that all packaging is wasteful and unnecessary, the reality is that paper-based packaging can not only provide the same protection but is also easily recyclable which can significantly reduce the amount of litter that goes to landfill.” www.antalis.co.uk Tech Data strengthens IoT offering Tech Data has signed a strategic partnership with the IQRF Alliance.
