PRINT IT RESELLER.UK 3 The biggest news to come out this month is the announcement that Xerox and Fujifilm have entered into a definitive agreement to combine Xerox and its longstanding Fuji Xerox joint venture. This comes just 18-months or so since news broke that another major player – Samsung was to exit the print market, selling to HP. The print market continues to consolidate, the number of OEMs and channel businesses continue to shrink. PITR asked a panel of industry stalwarts to share their thoughts on the market impact, the challenges and opportunities ahead (page 40). IDC predicts that by 2021, 40 per cent of companies in developed regions will have experienced a double- digit decline in office-based printing due to the ability to intelligently mine data and automate the extraction of business intelligence.
