01732 759725 50 sustainability and use recyclable packaging, which is a huge plus! What excites you most about the future? How AI will help print management become smarter and simpler. The biggest shift won’t just be automation; it’ll be pure intelligence. I expect support will evolve from reactive troubleshooting to proactive optimisation, predicting issues before they occur. Workflows will become adaptive, learning from user behaviour to create frictionless, personalised experiences rather than enforcing rigid, business-defined processes. What do you most enjoy about your job? The opportunity to build relationships with customers and resellers and share knowledge with them. There’s nothing better than explaining to our resellers how our solutions can help resolve common pain points such as deploying print queues, which can be complicated when a company has a large fleet of mixed-brand devices across one or many locations. I’m also surrounded by an awesome team of PaperCutters who genuinely care and help each other wherever they can. I’m very lucky to be where I am. What’s the best bit of business advice you’ve been given? Focus on solving real world problems and be consultative in everything you do. Rather than just box shift, try to find the real world issues and the voice of the client, and use that to create a solution and narrative that ticks all of their boxes. What would make your day job easier? Someone to do my admin for me so I can spend more time with clients. Which company do you most admire outside of our industry? I really love Pact Coffee and I’ve had a subscription with them for a while. It’s a carbon-neutral roastery, uses 100% green energy, and works with farmers on sustainable practices like reforestation. I like them because they don’t just pay fair prices to farmers; they also have a strong focus on environmental When did you first join the print sector and what attracted you? I joined the print sector back in 1999. I kind of fell into the industry after being made redundant from my first IT job. I applied to work at a company that provided document cost and output management solutions. It was based in Holborn, and I was working with clients to install systems and troubleshoot issues. Back then, we were working with an early DOS-based version of their solution. I was part of an amazing team back then, many of whom I’m still close friends with to this day. Alex Rollo, Technical Customer Success Manager, PaperCut Software 60 seconds with…. AND FINALLY Early bird or night owl? I'm up at 4:30am pretty much every morning and asleep by 10pm. Favourite app, and why? I’m loving how Meta and my Meta glasses work together – from recording par 3s on the course, to getting real-time help with work questions. It’s a glimpse of how wearable AI can blend into everyday life and actually add value across work and play. One screen, two or more? Just the one, unless I'm working with spreadsheets. Favourite quote/motto? "I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot, and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." Michael Jordan Last film you watched? Parasite, because it brilliantly uses a single-family home to expose the deep-seated and systemic class inequality that divides society, showing how the desire for a better life can turn into a desperate struggle for survival. How do you like to spend your spare time? Teaching/training Brazilian jiu jitsu or on the golf course. Alex Rollo
