Print IT Reseller - issue 135

PRINTITRESELLER.UK 43 VOX POP continued... John Green, Managing Director, Commerce Business Systems: If the past two years have shown us anything, it’s that businesses want everything under one roof. They don’t have time to deal with three or four suppliers for print, IT, phones and data; they want one point of contact to handle the lot. The lines between managed print, IT services and telecoms are now blending into one and this is what 2026 will be all about. Our customers, whether they’re businesses or schools, are looking for more secure document management or proactive IT support. IT software, licensed solutions and technology with added security are definitely high on the agenda for our customers. We’re seeing strong growth in every part of the business from managed print, IT services, cloud solutions and telecoms, and that’s set to continue. Our print volumes are still increasing, which might surprise some people, and we’ve already hit this year’s turnover target with two months to go. The only area that’s remained static is office supplies. In fairness, we’ve made this happen for ourselves and will continue to do so in 2026, because we’re driven and passionate about what we do, and about our customers. I’ve been in this business long enough to know that you can’t just wait for things to happen, you’ve got to plan ahead. We’re already planning for quarter two next year, with more expansion on the cards to widen our support to customers. Security and sustainability will also be high on everyone’s list, but the key for us is keeping things practical without overcomplicating things. We just focus on what works. 2026 is about building on our momentum and delivering technology that genuinely makes a difference. www.commercebusinesssystems.co.uk John Rivett-Carnac, Managing Director, Managed Print Solutions: As we move into 2026, three key themes are set to shape the print and IT landscape – intelligence, sustainability and security. Firstly, the sector will continue to embrace AI-driven print management. Predictive analytics will play a pivotal role in minimising downtime, optimising consumable use, and identifying inefficiencies before they affect productivity. For many organisations, this will mean smoother operations and measurable reductions in waste. Secondly, the shift towards sustainable print ecosystems will accelerate. With growing emphasis on ESG objectives, managed print providers will respond with energy-efficient devices, recycled consumables and smarter print policies that cut carbon emissions. Leasing models will increasingly support the circular economy, extending device lifespan, reducing e-waste, and encouraging responsible business practices. Lastly, print security will remain a top priority. As hybrid working becomes standard, print infrastructure must align with broader cybersecurity strategies. We will see tighter integration between devices, user authentication and network monitoring tools. Managed service providers will offer more comprehensive print-as-a-service solutions, combining cloud printing, secure access and proactive management. At MPS UK, we believe 2026 will be about connection: connecting people, technology and sustainability. As a proudly local business, we understand the importance of building strong relationships and providing personal, reliable support. By helping organisations print smarter, spend wisely and operate more sustainably, we aim to strengthen both our clients’ success and the communities we serve. www.mps-uk.co.uk For a business to run at its optimum level, things must connect, and data must flow seamlessly from one platform to another without needing an expensive resource, or a person as they are often referred to, getting involved. Having attended the excellent sustainability event hosted at Cliveden by Quocirca I know sustainability will continue to be a key part of our activities in 2026, and its importance will grow. Before I move on to security, I must pat myself on the back – in my 2024 predictions, I suggested augmented reality would be used at some point to improve training or technical support. Lo and behold, I was in the West Country visiting one of our very forwardthinking customers and the service director explained how they were using AI spectacles to guide engineers onsite through fixing machines, so they did not have to spend time looking through the manual. Even better, the spectacles took them through the steps to fix the issue in real-time. Absolutely brilliant – time saving, improving efficiency and productivity, RTF, and solving their customers’ issues in a very timely fashion. MFL! So, the key trend in 2026 will undoubtedly be security. On the back of the Land Rover and M&S hacks ,security has become front and centre for all organisations. It is a great opportunity for our channel, as we are perfectly placed to have the conversation with the SME sector most of us service. Finally, as an aside, PAE is 25 years old in December 2025 and I predict we still be here in 2026! Hopefully, I will get to see a lot of you in person but if not, thank you for your custom over the last 25 years, it has been a pleasure and privilege to work with you all, to automate your processes and deliver MFL! https://paebusiness.com John Rivett-Carnac John Green
