Print IT Reseller - issue 131

01732 759725 36 CAREERS Young talent powering the print industry Last issue, PrintIT Reseller invited leading print industry vendors to explore if the print sector is an attractive career choice for young professionals and explain how they are working to attract the next-generation. Here, we hear from some of the sector’s emerging talent why they chose to enter the print industry Bettina Lippmann, Regional GTM Commercial Operations and Systems Specialist, PaperCut: Printing is something that I have fallen into. And, over the last eight years, every year people have been saying: “oh, printing will go away soon”. Yet here we are, stronger than ever. Even though a lot of things have moved to digital, the experience of holding a page in your hands, being able to highlight it in marker or write notes in the margins, cannot, in my opinion, be recreated in a digital format. As an avid reader, the printed book is simply a different experience. That’s why I love how PaperCut’s solutions enable our customers to continue to benefit from this medium, but in a responsible way that brings visibility to print and helps to reduce print volumes while meeting sustainability goals. Print is an exciting sector because it never stands still; the migration to cloud-based print, mobile and the never-ending quest to keep print secure, make this a dynamic and fast-paced industry. I have never worked for the same company as long as I have for PaperCut. It has given me the opportunity to dip my toes into different roles and because of that, it has never felt like I’ve been standing still. It’s been said, time and time again, and it’s true, PaperCut’s culture is second to none in the print industry. There is no stuffy dress code, ideas and suggestions are encouraged, and in good PaperCut tradition, people do love their coffee (and tea!) which allows for ideal opportunities to gather in the kitchen and ‘talk shop’. www.papercut.com Bettina Lippmann Aiman Khan, Growth Account Executive, Kyocera Document Solutions UK: Print isn’t going anywhere, definitely not anytime soon and to be honest, it feels like it’s just getting started! I wanted to be part of a company where print isn’t just a side hustle, it’s the heart of everything – the bread and butter. It’s niche in many respects, but it has serious room to grow. And when a company throws sustainability into the mix, that makes it the kind of forward-thinking business that truly excites me. www.kyoceradocumentsolutions.co.uk Kieran Sherratt, Sales Manager, Intuitive: To be honest, I landed in the world of print almost by accident a few years ago, but I love it. Every day is different, being part of the transformation of the sector and helping to mould it, is exciting. The pace of change is rapid. I enjoy the fact that print touches every sector – so I can be working with healthcare providers, universities, government and private sector organisations, alongside our partners. It’s great to be involved in an industry where there are big changes such as the development and adoption of AI and cloud technology. https://weareintuitive.com Kieran Sherratt Aiman Khan
