01732 759725 26 Faster operation and greater usability The new RICOH Pro C5400 series of colour production printers combine enhanced speed of production and operation with greater usability. For commercial printing applications, the production printers deliver improved image registration accuracy achieved through enhanced paper feeding stability and more precise image adjustment functions, and support various types of media, including coated paper, waterproof paper, envelopes, clear files, and long sheet printing up to 1,300 mm. Other key features include new AI‑powered orientation detection and support for continuous scans of small format documents such as business cards; a reduced warm up time from 120 seconds to 26 seconds for the Pro C5410S and 30 seconds for the Pro C5400S; duplex scanning up to 300 ppm; an industry-first staple-less binding function that uses water to moisten and press the papers together, enabling staple-less binding up to 16 sheets for corner binding, or up to 12 sheets for two-position binding; and improved paper transport stability and enhanced image registration accuracy for duplex and long sheet printing with a redesigned vacuum feed large capacity input tray. In addition, the use of recycled materials has been increased by more than five times in this series compared to its predecessor. www.ricoh.co.uk Canon expands imageFORCE range Canon has launched two new lines of multifunction devices. The imageFORCE C5100 colour models and 6100 black and white A3 models offer seamless cloud connectivity, bridging the gap between physical paper and digital processes and use machine learning to analyse the IT environment and recommend and apply appropriate security settings. The new series has been built using 30% recycled plastics, a significant improvement compared to previous models. The devices consume less energy and incorporate technology to track environmental performance. Through smart sensors and machine learning, the new imageFORCE devices help to predict part failure and identify when a part needs to be replaced – minimising downtime and avoiding disruption. The new models also use high definition OLED exposure technology, developed by Canon, which allows businesses to achieve up to 4800dpi print resolution and deliver richer, higher quality prints with smoother tones, sharper text and less colour drift. Khalid Aziz, Marketing Director, Digital Printing & Solutions, at Canon UK & Ireland said: “Major technological advancements are transforming the modern workplace and the way we do business, including AI, cloud and IoT. In response, organisations must innovate and embrace technology in order to drive new levels of productivity and growth. Our new imageFORCE devices offer our customers the highest levels of innovation in our multifunction range. These flagship A3 colour and black and white models will equip businesses with pioneering technology to meet all office printing needs and are an ideal choice for organisations wishing to streamline document workflows and boost productivity.” www.canon.co.uk WHAT’S NEW K-level security The new Kyocera ECOSYS 3500 series comprising five A4 black and white devices, two printers and three MFPs are equipped with K-level security and come packed with advanced features to safeguard sensitive information. For example, Secure Boot and Run Time Integrity Check ensures that printers are protected from potential threats throughout their lifetime, while all devices in the range support TLS1.3 and come with integrated security information and event management (SIEM) capabilities. Users in heavily regulated industries can also make use of optional upgrades such as a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) and card authentication kits, for additional layers of protection. The devices are built with durable, energyefficient components and use eco-friendly toner that is free from titanium dioxide, offer print speeds of up to 35 ppm and incorporate new features such as increased RAM and a faster controller, which reduce waiting times for first prints and enable the handling of more complex print jobs. In addition, the new models integrate seamlessly with key platforms such as Microsoft Universal Print and Chrome OS, particularly beneficial for organisations operating hybrid work models where employees use different operating systems across multiple locations, ensuring minimal disruption to workflows. www.kyoceradocumentsolutions.co.uk
