Director Chris Fink discusses ECS’s culture of quality; employee retention, training and engagement PITR: What formula do you use to create this kind of culture among your colleagues? Ultimately, employee retention, training and methods of reward have been key to creating the culture that exists at ECS. A large majority of our team have been with us for a long time, some over a decade, which has ensured that our standards, both what we expect in terms of product quality and individual contribution has been maintained and passed on to newer members of our team by those more experienced. Each of our team are highly trained and educated across multiple areas of the business, ensuring that each member has some form of responsibility regarding our end product and the delivery of services and solutions to our Partners, with the knowledge and understanding of what our Partners expect and demand. We also like to ensure our team are well looked after, which in turn contributes to their wellbeing, productivity and motivation; we’re a living wage organisation, offering employees a wage that enables them to excel outside of work, which again promotes all of the above. CF: Alongside performance, reliability and consistency, quality is one of, if not the most important aspect of our premium remanufactured toner cartridges and is what sets us apart from other remanufacturers. Our ability to remanufacture a toner cartridge, enabling it to perform at a level consistent with an OEM model is second to none. While other remanufacturers will take shortcuts, failing to remanufacture a cartridge to its full potential, we look at every single detail that can be improved in terms of performance as well as sustainability, while continually improving our existing methods and innovating new ones. PITR: How important are the people behind the scenes? CF: Our team at ECS and ECS The Greener Side are vital to what we do, providing products and services which always exceed our Partners demands. Each and every single member plays a crucial role in the make-up of our complete solution, from the members involved in operating our recycling system and remanufacturing processes, right through to those who liaise with Partners and provide fantastic customer service.
