What evidence is there to suggest that your approach has been impactful? Over the last 12 months The Greener Side processed, recycled, remanufactured and refilled over 1.5 million printer and copier cartridges, which is roughly 15% of all recycled toner cartridges in the UK. The Greener Side recycling scheme has helped both ECS and its' Partners to improve on the industry's green credentials, as well as being a huge contributor to creating a circular economy. Our Partners also win more tenders by providing their customers with remanufactured products that have been made right here in the UK. How do your remanufactured toner cartridges contribute to your environmental edge? Our remanufactured toner cartridges make use of an entirely recycled toner cartridge, manufactured by an OEM such as Ricoh, Kyocera, Konica Minolta, etc. We aim to maintain the entire cartridge and make use of as much of the original cartridge shell as possible, only replacing parts (gears etc.) that can no longer function long term. Cartridges which are cared for in this way can be remanufactured again and again, going through multiple product life-cycles and ultimately reducing the use of raw materials to create brand new cartridges for the market. This way of working falls under an economy that works in an incredibly linear way, and is the complete opposite approach of what ECS are trying to achieve through their remanufacturing and recycling businesses.
