01732 759725 50 AND FINALLY Adam Collier, General Manager, UFP 60 seconds with… What’s currently having the greatest impact on your business? The pandemic has certainly thrown the print industry into a bit of chaos with print usage declining. With the acceleration of work-from-home, we have seen some challenges, but also some great opportunities to support our partners. Where do you see the next big opportunity? For UFP, it is diversification into new IT categories including solutions and services. What would make your day job easier? A few more hours in the day! What’s the best bit of business advice you’ve been given? Be a lifelong learner. Know your fundamentals and principles but remain open-minded to opportunities. If you had had a crystal ball, would you have done anything differently? Nothing, I don’t believe in dwelling on the past, we learn from our losses as much as we do from our wins. Describe your most embarrassing moment. Too many to choose from. I am forever ‘putting my foot in it’ so I just laugh at myself and move on. What was your first job? I was a mechanic. What would be your dream job? A footballer. Fine dining and good wine, or curry and a pint? Curry and a pint all day! How do you like to spend your spare time? Spending time with my children, playing football, and going to the gym. Favourite holiday destination? I really enjoy going to Marrakech for the sun, but I would be happy anywhere in the UK, there is plenty to see and do right on our doorstep. Money’s not an issue, what’s your perfect car… and where would you like to drive it? I’m a big fan of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and would like to drive at Nürburgring, so I could get the best out of it! The big kid in me also likes a Skyline GTR. Adam Collier
