40 Information Technology for Small to Medium-sized Businesses Servers & Storage RDX for audit-proof archiving and protection against cyber attacks Audit-proof archiving and data protection are a must for all organisations in the public sector, not only against the background of regulatory requirements such as the GDPR, but increasingly by cyber attacks. Removable disk systems such as RDX are capable of effectively supporting public institutions in implementing a data protection strategy. Cybercrime and malicious software such as ransomware have become a major threat especially for public institutions. Backup alone is a primary protection against data loss, but online backups are also vulnerable to malware. Therefore, it requires a storable medium such as the known tape, or removable disk systems such as RDX. RDX media combine the portability and reliability of the tape with the speed of a hard disk.
