Editor's Choice Awards 2018

www.binfo.co.uk 15 Editor’s Choice Awards April 2017 saw the largest product launch in Xerox's 110-year history, with the introduction of 29 cloud- enabled ConnectKey printers and multifunction devices spread across two new sub-brands, VersaLink for small workgroups and AltaLink for larger workgroups and customers with high volume print needs. The VersaLink series includes 19 printers and MFPs (12 A4 and 7 A3), while the AltaLink series comprises 10 A3 MFPs, with print speeds of up to 90 pages per minute. All models across both series have a common user interface and are based on the Xerox Extensible Interface Platform (EIP), an open system architecture that enables ConnectKey devices to be used with a broad range of document, workflow and enterprise solutions. The ability to integrate devices with third party solutions transforms basic print, copy, scan devices into smart, connected workplace assistants able to meet the evolving needs of today’s businesses. ConnectKey devices can also be used with standard and custom apps offered by Xerox and third parties in the Xerox App Gallery. Using Xerox’s Personalised Application Builder, independent software vendors and developers can create their own apps for customers and the broader market. Convenient and customisable ConnectKey devices feature a large tablet- like touchscreen interface with tap, swipe and pinch controls that can be customised with each user’s choice of apps, functions and workflows. Time-saving features like scan previews and a reduction in the number of steps needed to complete a task save time and boost productivity. On Altalink MFPs, for example, scan to email involves just four steps, compared to as many as 10 on other devices. Direct connectivity to cloud services, such as Google Drive, OneDrive and DropBox, helps users get work done from anywhere on any device, while support for Apple Airprint, Google Cloud Print, Mopria and more enables mobile workers to print where and when they want. Using the Print@PrintByXerox app, users can print from any internet-enabled device to any ConnectKey-enabled printer or MFP by sending an email with an attachment and retrieving it at the device. Benchmark security ConnectKey technology offers users peace of mind by exceeding industry standards for security features and technologies. It ensures comprehensive safety for system components and points of vulnerability; offers protection from unauthorised access to devices; keeps confidential communications and information safe with encryption and image overwrite; audits device access attempts; and protects both data and devices from malicious intent. AltaLink MFPs feature an added layer of security through Xerox's partnership with McAfee. McAfee Whitelisting technology constantly monitors for and automatically prevents any malicious malware from running. Award-winning The appeal of these new ConnectKey devices is clear to see, and the devices have already been recognised numerous times by the independent evaluator of document imaging hardware, software and services Buyers Lab (BLI). In its annual Summer Pick Awards, Streamline your workflow Xerox ConnectKey printers and MFPs Editor’s Choice: PrintIT Reseller Keypoint Intelligence – Buyers Lab recognised four Xerox printer and multifunction printer (MFP) lines, including three from the new ConnectKey portfolio, for their productivity-boosting capabilities. The Xerox VersaLink B400 series was named ‘Outstanding Multifunction Printer for Mid-Size Workgroups’, the Xerox VersaLink C400 series was picked as the ‘Outstanding Colour Printer for Mid-Size Workgroups’ and the Xerox VersaLink C405 series won the award for ‘Outstanding Colour Multifunction Printer for Mid-Size Workgroups’. Xerox was also the recipient of BLI’s 2017 Document Imaging Software Line of the Year Award for the fourth year in a row. While this award recognised a number of solutions from Xerox, ConnectKey technology certainly helped seal the deal. www.xerox.co.uk What we liked: • cloud connectivity • intuitive user experience • high level of security • customisable • breadth of range XEROX : ConnectKey MFPs Case study: Xerox ConnectKey a win for global manufacturer CLIMAX is a global portable manufacturing company that offers on-site machining, welding and valve testing to its customers in the oil and gas, mining, heavy construction, power generation, shipbuilding and transportation industries. The company turned to the new Xerox devices because its employees need simple, secure and frequently on-the-go access to digital files for printing, sharing and storing. “Xerox’s VersaLink C405 devices fit perfectly in our highly secure, highly mobile work environment,” said David Richardson, network administrator, CLIMAX. “Our engineers only work on the most complex manufacturing and repair jobs, so it’s critical that our workflows are as streamlined as possible.”
