Epson also expanded its EcoTank range with the introduction of dedicated photo printers featuring a 5-colour ink system (ET-7750, ET-7700) and a wider choice of devices for homes, home offices and small offices (ET-4750, ET-3750, ET-3700, ET- 2750, ET-2700). This includes models with larger paper trays, automatic document feeders, a fax capability, duplex printing, network connectivity and Scan-to-Cloud functionality. Whether you’re looking to print everyday documents, photos or business materials, there is now an EcoTank model to suit your needs. Low running costs The ink supply included with the new models has also been increased, from two to three years' worth of ink. When the original inks eventually run out, it’s straightforward to purchase low- cost refill bottles to replenish the tanks. The refill bottles also provide high yields, so the user can continue to print thousands of pages without interruption. Epson has an online calculator (www. epson.co.uk/ecotank-calculator ) that lets consumers and small businesses identify the most economical printer for their needs and see how much they could save by First launched in the UK in 2014, Epson’s EcoTank line has turned the traditional razor/razor blade printer business model on its head. Instead of low-cost hardware and expensive, low capacity ink cartridges, Epson has developed a fairly priced MFP with ultra-high capacity ink tanks that last for the lifetime of the device. In a survey by Epson, 87% of consumers said they have been in a position where they have not been able to print due to an empty ink cartridge. Epson developed EcoTank to address the frustration felt by these users. With no cartridges to replace, users simply top up the tanks with bottles of Epson ink. This results in very low running costs, almost no waste and minimal user intervention. Design update In 2017, Epson built on the success of its first EcoTank devices with the launch of a new generation of devices featuring a more user-friendly design. To provide easy access for refilling and at-a-glance visibility of ink levels, it moved the ink tank from the side of the printer to the front. It also redesigned the ink bottles to ensure mess-free refilling and added a mechanism that prevents users from comparing the top 20 best-selling printers against Epson’s EcoTank. Designed for your needs Offering print speeds of up to 15ppm, the new models are compatible with Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print and the Epson iPrint app for quick and easy printing from smartphones and tablets. Users can also email files remotely with Epson Email Print. Ideal for creative tasks, the ET-7700 and ET-7750 feature a 5-colour ink system; borderless printing; and an SD card slot. For maximum flexibility, the ET-7750 can even print in A3. The ET-7700/ET-7750 and the ET-2700/ ET-2750 feature Epson's Micro Piezo technology, which ejects droplets of ink via mechanical pressure rather than heat and provides superb precision and speed. The ET-4750, ET-3750, ET-3700 have a PrecisionCore printhead, an advanced form of Micro Piezo, which offers even faster print speeds, more accuracy and greater nozzle density for impressive image quality. With a print speed of 15ppm and an automatic document feeder, these models are great for the office. www.epson.co.uk
