Brother UK – Celebrating 50 years in business 3 In over two decades of employment with Brother UK, I’ve witnessed the business continually change its’ business model and product line-up to meet the demands of the moment. Always staying close to the market, it’s customers and emerging ways of working to ensure relevancy in the way we communicate and do business.   In addition to our golden anniversary year, 2018 sees the business awarded with Investors in People Platinum and a Queens Award for Enterprise Sustainable Development highlighting our progress around people and all areas of corporate social responsibility. We are particularly proud of these achievements and continue with our aim to be a profit earning enterprise with conscience, investing in future talent and our local community. Over fifty years in the office technology sector, the business has transformed it’s product offering from typewriters and word processors, fax machines and dot matrix printers to high speed office printers, mobile print and scan devices, identification products and managed print services plus solutions, serving the information technology market. I’m often asked what the secret to sustainable success is and my experience at Brother UK has taught me that: – 1 Staying close to your customer is key. 2 Staying adaptable in terms of your approach to market, product offering and business model is key. 3 Investing in your people who deliver your promises is key. As we look forward to the next 50 years in the UK, it’s evident that we will continue to have to work hard at these three things locally whilst our engineers across the globe develop our product technologies for the future. As part of it’s Golden anniversary, Brother UK wrapped a BMW i8 in gold chrome to visit trade exhibitions and customer focus days.  The car which acts as a metaphor for the business in terms of speed, sustainability and modernity.
