The desire of businesses
to reduce print costs is as
strong as ever. But not at any

A3 MFPs can make sense from
a cost per page perspective,
but for the sake of convenience
and productivity, a strong
case can be made for placing
a number of workgroup A4
devices within easy reach of
end users.
Today, it is widely accepted
that the optimum print
infrastructure in enterprises
and SMEs features a balanced
deployment of A4 and A3,

reliable, affordable desktop solution for small workgroups of up to five people.
their entirety.
To meet the needs of
customers who don’t need
an A3 device, Sharp already
provides a wide range of lower
cost, space-efficient A4 MFPs,
including the DX-C200, MX-
C312 and MX-C381 for small,
medium and large workgroups
respectively.
It is now strengthening its
colour A4 offering with two
small workgroup MFPs, the MX-
C250F and MX-C300W, which
combine the reliability and
productivity of larger MFPs with
the small footprint of a desktop
model.
“There has always been a
requirement for small desktop
machines,” explains Sharp

in departments such as HR
that regularly print sensitive
material, in a director’s suite,
or in a pod for four people.
You might also choose to have
one or two scattered around a
busy office that people can use
if the hallway machine is not
accessible.
“We found that we were
missing out on business from
potential customers who
needed a true business-class
MFP but in a desktop format at
an affordable price. We sell a
lot of MX-C312s, but we were
also losing orders because
4-in-1 functionality
Network colour print, copy, scan and fax functions as standard.
Desktop design
Compact desktop design saves floor-space. Can be operated from
a seated position even when the extra paper tray is added.
Wired and wireless network
Built-in Fast Ethernet network connectivity enables easy sharing in
busy workgroups. The MXC-300W adds wireless LAN connectivity,
enabling wireless printing/scanning via a wireless router or a
direct connection.
Professional print quality
Superb colour print/copy quality for a desktop MFP, with 600 x
600dpi resolution and PCL6 and PS3 emulations as standard.
High productivity
Print/copy speeds of 25 and 30 pages per minute for both colour
and B&W output enable large print jobs to be completed quickly.
First page out times of 10/18 seconds for mono/colour pages
ensure rapid throughput.
Hands-free copying/scanning
Automatic document feeders (35- and 50-pages respectively) offer
rapid copying/scanning of multiple pages at speeds of 18 originals
per minute (opm) for B&W and 9opm for colour. The ADF on the
MX-C300W automatically scans both sides of the page.
Large paper capacity
A standard paper capacity of 300 pages, with the option of an
additional 500-sheet paper tray for busy workgroups. A 50-sheet
bypass tray supports paper/card stock up to 220gsm.
PC-free Print/Scan
A USB port on the control panel enables walk-up, PC-free printing
from/scanning to USB memory sticks. Many competitor products
only offer printing from USB. Support for JPEG, TIFF and PDF file
formats.
Ease of use
A 5-line display and programmable buttons for common tasks
simplify and speed up operation.
Low running costs
Paper-saving features include automatic two-sided printing; n-up
printing; an ID Card Copy function that lets you copy both sides of
a card on the same sheet; and the electronic routing of inbound
faxes to email addresses. A toner-saving Eco Mode cuts running
costs further.

Energy Star accreditation and low TEC ratings of 1.65 and
1.92kWh keep power consumption low.
