01732 759725 34 COMPANY PROFILE Industry veteran Ian Birch who has 17 years’ experience in IT services, launched the company in January this year. Having worked with a number of OEMs, including Kyocera and Ricoh, and most recently as Head of Digital Transformation at Xerox, he has a strong heritage in bringing assessment and consulting approaches to market as well as delivering successful change projects in large public and private sector organisations. Speaking to PrintIT Reseller about the move, Birch said that the time was right to go it alone. “My role at Xerox was coming to an end and I saw this as an exciting opportunity to move on and do my own thing. I’m excited to support, guide and help vendors, channel resellers and end clients alike on their digital transformation journeys.” Birch says that the Managed Print Services industry has seen significant change in recent years with consolidation through acquisitions and mergers a common occurrence across OEM providers, channel partners and consultancy specialists. “IBC Group will fulfil an important role in offering fully independent, vendor-neutral consultancy to businesses, guaranteeing that they have the most appropriate systems in place to drive efficiency and reduce costs,” he said. Birch sees a real opportunity in helping the channel and their customers to ensure print remains relevant in the digital age. “There is so much change in our industry, my last role was very much focussed on digital disruption and on the relevance of print in the workplace in this new world. I’m eager to be a part of that digital future.” New start-up IBC Group is focused on helping organisations unlock the value of their data through insight, automation and compliance consultancy services New year, new business Independent and vendor-neutral IBC Group is offering a comprehensive suite of services enabling organisations to improve the performance of their data systems, automate business processes and ensure compliance with data regulations. “IBC Group meets the urgent need for independent, vendor-neutral consultancy services in the managed print and information management sectors,” Birch explained. He said that the company will work with both end-users and the channel. “Our consultancy services are designed to address the needs of both end-users and resellers, looking to help their customers transition the DX economy.” He added: “I see the channel as playing a significant role in helping their customers make meaningful, fact-based decisions to improve efficiency and reduce costs and I’m really keen to support resellers in evolving their offer to deliver that service.” Insight, automation and compliance IBC Group will focus on three key areas: Insight: With substantial experience gained with some of the world’s leading print and document management companies, IBC Group’s consultants will deliver critical insights and recommendations using advanced business intelligence tools, helping businesses to unlock the value of the ever increasing amount of data flowing into and out of their organisations. Automation: Focusing on digital transformation to ensure companies become more efficient and effective as well as delivering excellence in customer experience. Business process mapping allows consultants to identify improvement and automation opportunities. The automation of business processes reduces manual error rates and increases productivity. This allows employees to spend more time focusing on client relationships. Compliance: IBC Group also offers comprehensive GDPR readiness assessments, helping organisations to identify capability gaps and ensure ongoing compliance with existing and future regulations. “We recognise the digital challenges and opportunities faced by many businesses today,” Birch said. “Unlocking the value of data in a business is vital in maintaining a competitive advantage. Furthermore, the automation of business processes and reduced reliance on paper delivers an improved customer experience. Finally, businesses are under pressure to remain compliant with their regulatory obligations.” “I’m very excited about what 2018 will bring, the adrenaline is pumping,” Birch said, adding: “We have hit the ground running, just two weeks into trading we are already actively supporting a client and we have a pipeline that is beyond all my expectations.” Off to a flying start, Birch is already expanding the team. “I am very much looking forward to the future and building the business. For me it’s all about ensuring we’re geared to deliver at scale, and I am already actively recruiting, bringing on board more expertise to future-proof the business in our goal to deliver first class consultancy services,” he said. “The range of digital technologies available today offer fantastic opportunities to work in better ways. Consequently, this allows us to engage more effectively as independent consultants with our customers,” he said in conclusion. www.ibcg.co.uk IBC Group meets the urgent need for independent, vendor- neutral consultancy services in the managed print and information management sectors Ian Birch
