New research by Steelcase shows that more and more managers in Europe are choosing to adopt the ‘free range’ workstyles advocated by HP. An IPSOS Public Affairs survey of more than 2,500 managers in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom found that more than one fifth of managers (22%) work away from their primary office and that almost one third (29%) regularly work while travelling.
Steelcase’s research suggests that even those who still do most of their work from an assigned space would like more mobility within the office: 78% said it would be beneficial if they had more opportunity to share information or experiences with colleagues on an ad hoc basis.
